March 19, 2018
MassMutual Pacific partnered with the Hawaii Council on Economic Education (HCEE) for its Basic Investing Workshop on Saturday, March 17th. The workshop was held at Sacred Heart Academy in Kaimuki, Oahu.
Hawaii advisor Patrick Tantoco presented at the 3-hour workshop for educators who wanted to learn about basic investing, asset allocation and the Hawaii Stock Market Stimulation.
Tantoco introduced three types of common investments: stocks, bonds and mutual funds. Lastly, there was a review of the fundamentals of asset allocation. Denise Esposito, executive director of HCEE, followed with a presentation about the Hawaii Stock Market Simulation and how it could be used in the classroom for students to engage in.
“We had a great turnout and we received positive feedback from attendees,” says Esposito. “We appreciate Patrick’s time and MassMutual Pacific’s support in providing Hawaii’s teachers with the tools to educate students about economics.”
